 Routine venipuncture. Preferred: Red-topped tube (see storage instructions) Acceptable:RST (rapid separator tube) and EDTA plasma (Min.: 3 mL of blood)

Stability:

Causes for Rejection:

Incomplete and/or incorrect sample identification, improper tube type and/or storage,transport. Hemolyzed specimen 

Specimen Preparation:

Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Centrifuge to separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection.
